We are a Roman Catholic parish in the Archdiocese of Birmingham. The patron of our church is St Peter. The church is situated on the B4091, the main road south out of Bromsgrove town centre (click here for a link to a map). The parish priest is Fr Thomas Arathil Chacko mst (Missionary Society of St Thomas)

In 1851 the newly established English bishops decided that priority should be given in parishes to building schools rather than churches. In Bromsgrove planning for the church came first and the school had to be content with a converted cowshed.   We still use it as the parish community centre. In 1858 the parish base was transferred to its present site from Grafton Manor. It was designed in the Gothic revival style by Gilbert Blount of London and built by James Wilson of Birmingham.
The foundations were laid in 1859; the building was completed in 1861 and was blessed and opened by Bishop Ullathorne on 24th September 1862.

Our school
The parish school is St Peter's First School, situated close to the Church. It was established in around 1860 in part of the building which is now the Parish Centre. The school is now associated with other local Catholic schools in Redditch as part of the Our Lady of the Magnificat Multi-Academy Company (MAC). Click here for a link to the school website. The headteacher is Mrs Catherine Clubley.
