Today’s Liturgy Today’s Gospel is one of the most frightening we come across. Jesus warns us against putting off repentance until tomorrow. The story of the vineyard owner reminds us of God’s infinite patience. He is slow to anger & rich in mercy. Like Moses we must not be afraid to approach God, confident in his love & mercy.
Fairtrade Goods are again on sale in the Centre after all Masses. If you didn’t go in last week try to go today. Help people in poorer countries deprived through lack of social justice. Support also our Justice & Peace Group who work so hard in lots of ways to raise our awareness of the needs of others.
Family Fast Day Thank you for your generosity, especially as it followed so soon after the Haiti Appeal. Collection raised £807.46. God bless you for your kindness to those who have so little.
CAFOD Pyramid Boxes Please consider taking a box from the back and placing in it whatever your family save by self denial during Lent. A little or a lot will be welcomed back at Easter.

St Peter’s Ladies meet in the Centre on Wed 17 Mar 7.30pm. There’ll be a Quiz, instead of the previously arranged Skittles’ Night.
2nd Collection Next Week for the upkeep of St Chad’s, Cathedral. Parish Levies A few weeks ago there was a Newsletter item on Diocesan Levies made by our Parish. In Feb our Parish paid levies of £3862.89!!

The Lemon Tree A film giving a balanced portrayal of the present political & emotional struggle between Israelis & Palestinians. Come & watch on Thu 11 Mar 7pm at the Birmingham Midland Institute in Margaret St, near B’ham Council House.
The First Stone The new group to help young people (11-16) develop a Christian action approach to the Gospels begins in the Centre next Sun 14 Mar 6-7.30pm.
2009 Parish Statistics submitted to the Diocesan Curial Office. Baptisms 43, 1st Holy Communions 22, Confirmations 26, Marriages 10, Deaths 20.People received into the Church 6. Average Sunday Mass Attendance 287 (6% down on 2008). Pray always for the community of our Parish. Our holy patron St Peter, pray for us.
Parish Centre Accounts 2009: Income £6849.08 Expenditure £6370.49. A slim profit of £478.59 – until the old boiler goes bang. It’s incredible just what expenses are involved. At least the Parish didn’t have to subsidise the Centre last year. The Centre is available to hire for Baptism & Young Peoples’ parties. Our thanks to Cath Bryan who looks after all the bookings & to Gary Macpherson for producing the accounts.
