PAPAL MASS – VERY URGENT  To date 46 have signed to go to the Cofton Park Mass. Still 48 places available. CLOSING DATE NEXT SUN 1 AUG. Archbishop’s House must have names & details  of all pilgrims by Wed 4 Aug. ALL PILGRIMS MUST TAKE, COMPLETE & RETURN A PILGRIM FORM BY
THAT DATE, TOGETHER WITH £25 PER PERSON FEE.  Forms at the back. Please hand form & fee to Mgr Graham or place it in an envelope & put it in the 200 Club Box. The principle is simple NO FORM—NO GO TO COFTON.

Stewards for Papal Mass Volunteers with a variety of skills are required. You must be agile, over 18 yrs & able to work for between 8-14 hours with limited rests. Doctors, Nurses & First Aiders required. Anyone willing to volunteer should get a set of forms from the back of church.

Thank you St Augustine’s School for the 3 concerts before heading off to Paris to sing in the Notre Dame. They  kindly gave £250 to our Restoration Fund.

Happy Retirement St Peter’s School & our Parish wish Patricia Adams a long & happy retirement after her 19 yrs on the School Staff. We thank her for her devoted service, especially her catechetical work preparing children for the Sacraments. Have a well deserved rest & thank you.

New Rotas for Ministers of the Word & Holy Communion at the back. To ensure a good & polished uniformity of practice Ministers of the Word are asked to read, digest & follow guidance notes on the reverse of the rota list.

Parish Jubilee Dance on Fri 1 Oct at the Hilton Hotel.Don’t say you’re thinking about it, get your name on that there list. Friends of parishioners welcome. Cost £27.

Thank you also to the Over 50s Club who raised £60 at a coffee morning for the Restoration Fund.  Sincere thanks.

Restoration Work almost complete. The scaffolding has gone,so have the bees. The roof is repaired, renewed guttering & drainpipes, stonework pointed & some replaced. New, almost invisible, window guards. Old boot scrapers removed. When they were installed in 1861 they cost 35p.  Some work still to be done on the drains & the porch is being re-plastered.
